📍 What You’re Looking At:
This home was more than just another address — it belonged to my uncle not long ago, and I spent time here growing up. When WFL Builders brought me in to handle the new roof, I already knew the house well. The roof, though, had reached its end — shingles worn, structure soft in spots, and no ridge venting in place.

Visible in the final product:

  • A full layer of Owens Corning Duration architectural shingles, known for strength and long-term performance
  • Integrated ridge venting, added to balance airflow and preserve the life of the system
  • Beneath the surface, reinforced structural points ensure stability where it was previously fatigued
  • Everything from underlayment to flashing was locked in with attention to detail and durability in mind

✅ Do:

✔️ Keep ridge vents free of debris — proper airflow is key to preventing heat and moisture buildup
✔️ Give the roof a look seasonally — a quick visual check helps catch potential issues early

❌ Don’t:

❌ Don’t rely on caulk alone to stop leaks — flashing and shingle layers do the real work
❌ Don’t wait for a leak to act — once water’s inside, it’s already done damage

🤕 Symptoms: -Faded, worn-out shingles with curling edges and surface loss -Roof showing signs of age-related fatigue and uneven ventilation -Structure needed minor reinforcement to support long-term performance -Homeowner looking for a “set it and forget it” roofing system — long-lasting and clean 🩺 Diagnosis: This one hit a little different — WFL Builders brought me in to handle the full roof rebuild, and as soon as I heard the address, it clicked. My uncle had just sold the house, and it was one I knew well from growing up. A lot of time was spent in that backyard as a kid, so walking back onto that roof as a contractor years later brought a full-circle energy with it. The shingles were past due, and the underlying structure needed attention before anything new could go on. This wasn’t a cosmetic job — it was about doing right by the house and by the history, laying something down that would hold strong long after we were gone. 🛠️ Treatment Plan: -Full tear-off of existing shingle system, down to the decking -Identified and reinforced weak points in the roof framing to prep for long-term load and weather -Installed a full Owens Corning Duration roofing system for premium protection and longevity -Integrated ridge venting for balanced attic airflow and extended material life -Ensured every detail was locked in tight — from flashing to nail lines — to prevent future maintenance needs 💡 Prognosis: The roof is now sealed, sharp, and strong. With the Owens Corning system in place and the structure underneath dialed in, the homeowner won’t have to give this roof a second thought for decades. And here’s something to remember — living under a failing roof does more than just let in water. It lets in stress. It affects sleep. It traps moisture, breeds mold, and that’s real weight on your lungs and immune system. Fixing the structure is fixing your health, even if you don’t see it happening.
