📍 What You’re Looking At:
This roof had run its course — worn shingles, active leaks, and deck spots that had gone soft from moisture over time. What you see here is the final result after a full tear-off and rebuild.

Visible features in this photo include:

  • Owens Corning Duration architectural shingles, chosen for their long-term durability and clean finish
  • Upgraded ridge ventilation, helping the attic breathe and extending the life of the roof
  • Decking underneath was repaired where needed, bringing the structure back to full integrity
  • Owens Corning synthetic underlayment laid beneath the shingles for a strong weatherproof barrier

✅ Do:

✔️ Check your roof visually after heavy storms — especially around chimneys and ridge lines
✔️ Keep gutters clear so water doesn’t back up and eat away at shingle edges

❌ Don’t:

❌ Don’t assume a newer roof doesn’t need a look now and then — even great materials need a little attention
❌ Don’t lean ladders or tools against the ridge cap — it’s tough, but that ventilation is key to roof health

Overview

Apr 29, 2019
May 18, 2019
🤕 Symptoms: -Shingles visibly worn and curling at edges -Multiple small leaks reported during rainstorms -Roof decking showing signs of soft spots and fatigue -Long-term weather exposure without updated protection -Aging underlayment no longer providing proper seal 🩺 Diagnosis: The roof had reached the end of its useful life. Water had found its way in through multiple points, and the shingle field was deteriorating. Underneath, the decking showed signs of past damage — not everywhere, but enough to raise concern. At this point, patching would’ve been a temporary fix. The house needed a full reset from the sheathing up. 🛠️ Treatment Plan: -Full tear-off of the old roofing system, including damaged shingles and underlayment -Repaired and replaced sections of roof decking where rot or softness was found -Installed Owens Corning synthetic underlayment for upgraded moisture and wind protection -Finished with Owens Corning Duration architectural shingles, chosen for their durability, wind resistance, and clean look -Reinforced ridge ventilation for proper airflow and longevity of attic space 💡 Prognosis: The roof is now solid, sealed, and built to stand up to the elements. With the structural repairs made and top-tier materials installed, this home can breathe easy for the long haul. Not only is it leak-free — it’s protected from the next storm, and the next season, and the next decade.
