This job was a full-scope exterior overhaul — the kind of project where every step builds on precision. Removing the old siding exposed several small moisture pockets that, if ignored, would have led to structural decay. Each affected section of sheathing was replaced before any new cedar was installed. The natural cedar siding wasn’t pre-fabricated panels — every board was hand-set and fastened to align perfectly along the home’s frame, ensuring both straight lines and natural grain flow.
Trim was fabricated to match the home’s existing architectural proportions, giving every window and door the sharp, dimensional definition that factory-grade materials can’t replicate. The propane tank surround, built from the same cedar stock, turned what was once a distraction into a seamless part of the overall design.
The new deck boards and railing tied everything together, blending perfectly with the fresh siding tone. Every element was sealed, stained, and prepped for the Northeast climate — designed not just to look good now, but to weather gracefully over the years.
Maintenance Notes:
Reapply cedar sealant or stain every 2–3 years
Keep gutters and downspouts clear to prevent backflow water damage
Avoid high-pressure washing; use gentle cleaning methods
Maintain airflow around siding and propane surround to prevent trapped moisture
