Client Review

Sonny from Reale Construction built a desk in my living room, built out several closets, painted, did some demo and other home improvements. He did all the design, purchasing and brought in great workers. Easy to work with, timely, fairly priced and highly skilled carpenter. Definitely recommend.

🤕 Symptoms: Unneeded entertainment center doors, mismatched shelving, lack of storage flow, and no cohesive workspace—symptoms of a space never designed with productivity or aesthetics in mind. 🔍 Diagnosis & Evaluation: The space was functional only in theory. What the client needed was a seamless, integrated solution—a workspace that felt like part of the home's original design, not just a desk in the corner. The existing entertainment center doors were obstructive, and pointless its time they disapear. 🛠️ Treatment Plan (What We Performed): -Removed obsolete entertainment center doors to open up and reimagine the space. -Patched, prepped, and painted all surfaces in and around the entertainment centers to match the existing interior finish. -Custom-fabricated a built-in desk and shelving system using design-matched materials and trim to blend naturally with the room's style. -Concealed storage compartments were created to reduce visible clutter and preserve visual simplicity. -Integrated the new build into the home’s existing architectural lines for a true built-in appearance. 💡 Result: A tailored, professional-grade home workspace and entertainment center that functions efficiently while looking like it’s been part of the home from day one.

Project Notes

  • The project began by removing the outdated entertainment center doors, which not only made the space more accessible but also immediately modernized the look. All surrounding surfaces were patched and painted, so there’s no trace of where the doors once interrupted the flow.

  • The custom desk was designed to fit wall-to-wall, maximizing every inch and ensuring the setup didn’t look like a “store-bought” desk shoved in a corner. The design matched the home’s existing trim profile and paint, so the new install visually disappears into the original architecture.

  • Shelving was built above and around the main work area for easy-access storage of books, office supplies, and tech, while concealed storage underneath keeps wires, chargers, and less-attractive essentials out of sight.

  • Special attention was paid to cable management and ventilation—critical for electronics hidden in cabinets or cubbies. Vents and cutouts were built into concealed spaces to keep air flowing and prevent heat buildup.

  • Additional shelving was installed in the adjacent closets for overflow storage and to bring continuity to the whole room.

  • As a bonus, the client requested a custom-built motorcycle ramp to allow safe access to the porch—an offbeat touch, but one that demonstrates the range of custom solutions available for any need.

  • Key takeaway: What started as an awkward, cluttered corner is now a purpose-built, clean, and cohesive work-and-entertainment center—matching the home, elevating daily life, and making organization effortless.
